Use these checks if Picsart Capture & Create cannot find page media, capture a screenshot or record a selected area in desktop Chrome.
The page is unavailable or no media appears
- Open the webpage you want to capture and click the Picsart toolbar icon on that page. This grants temporary access and refreshes the side panel.
- If you switched tabs or opened a different website, click the icon on the new page too. Opening the side panel from Chrome's menu does not grant page access.
- Let the image or video load, then try again. A page may contain no supported images or directly accessible video files.
- Try a regular webpage. Chrome settings, extension-store pages, protected content and unsupported streams may block capture or media access.
For YouTube, use available thumbnails or visible-frame capture. The extension does not download full YouTube videos or bypass protection. A video frame is a still image.
The screenshot is blank or shows the wrong area
- Return to the intended tab and click the Picsart toolbar icon again.
- Choose Screenshot of visible page or Screenshot of an area. Select the area again and inspect the preview.
- If only protected video content is blank, use a different source you are allowed to capture. Full-page scrolling screenshots are not supported.
A recording has no sound or stops early
Recordings are silent WebM files. Audio and microphone capture are not included. A recording stops at 120 active seconds or 25 MB, whichever limit is reached first. Paused time does not count toward the active recording limit.
- Keep the side panel open until you stop and save or download the recording. Closing it ends capture and can lose unsaved media.
- If a limit is reached, record a shorter segment.
- Use Pause, Resume and Stop to control the recording. After stopping, preview the selected trim before saving.
Capture works, but saving or generation fails
Capture, Drive upload and AI generation are separate steps. Check your connected account and selected Drive folder. If a generation says its outcome is unknown, check History and Drive before retrying; another submission could create a duplicate and use more credits.
