Use Picsart Capture & Create in desktop Chrome to capture screenshots, save supported page media and record short, silent videos. You can save captures to Picsart Drive or use them as references for AI generation.
Install and open the extension
- Open Picsart Capture & Create in the Chrome Web Store and select Add to Chrome.
- Open the webpage you want to capture and click the Picsart toolbar icon. The side panel opens with temporary access to that page.
- Connect your Picsart account when you want to save to Drive, check your credit balance or generate content.
After switching tabs or opening another website, click the toolbar icon on that page again. Opening the side panel from Chrome’s menu does not grant page access.
Take a screenshot or clip page media
- Choose Screenshot of visible page or Screenshot of an area. For an area capture, select the part of the page you need.
- Review the preview, then save it to Drive or use it as a reference.
You can also select supported image or video thumbnails in the side panel, or use a supported image’s right-click menu. Only directly accessible video files can be saved. For YouTube, use available thumbnails or a visible-frame capture; full YouTube video downloads are not supported. A captured frame is a still image.
The extension clips visual media. It does not save full articles, entire websites or scrolling full-page screenshots.
Record a short video
- Open the capture button’s arrow menu and choose Video of an area.
- Select an area, review the preview and choose Record.
- Use Pause and Resume as needed, then choose Stop. Keep the side panel open.
- Preview or trim the recording, then download it or save it to Drive.
Recordings are silent WebM files, limited to 120 active seconds or 25 MB, whichever comes first. Paused time does not count. Audio and microphone capture are not included. Closing the panel can lose unsaved media, and protected video may appear blank.
Save to Drive or generate with AI
Check your account and destination folder before uploading. Use Change to choose a folder, or Use page folder for the automatic page-based folder.
To generate, enter your own description or prompt and choose a model and settings. Review the credit quote and approve generation separately. If the price is unavailable, any option to continue requires explicit acceptance of an unknown charge; it is not a free generation.
Reference files may upload before you approve generation. Learn how to manage Drive files and generation credits, including unknown outcomes and files that remain after disconnecting.
Continue in Clipper or get help
Clipper opens the connected Picsart web app. If your saved file is not selected there, check the connected account and chosen Drive folder.
Fix capture and recording problems in Chrome, or check availability for other browsers.
Background removal may be unavailable. If shown as unavailable, it does not automatically run a paid generation instead.
