Most AI video models create short clips. With Extend in AI Playground, you can continue a clip again and again to make a longer video, for example from 10 seconds to 1 minute or more. This article explains how.

Where can I make longer videos?
You can extend videos in AI Playground on the Picsart website, in the Picsart app and in the AI Playground desktop app. To learn the basics, read Get started with AI Playground.
How does Extend work?
An extend model takes the last frame of your clip and continues the scene from there. Your scene, character and lighting stay the same. Each time you extend, you get a new clip that starts where the last one ended. At the end, you merge the clips into one video.
Which models can I use?
In the model picker, look for models that can continue a video. Most of them have Extend in the name. Here are some examples:
- Seedance 2.5 Video Extend: Continues your clip. You can choose 480p, 720p or 1080p resolution.
- Seedance 2.0 Video Extend: Joins up to 3 clips into one video of up to 15 seconds.
- MiniMax H3 Max Extend
- Grok Extend Video
- Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash: Works with clips shorter than 30 seconds.
We add and update models often, so the list you see can be different. Each model gives a different look and length, so try a few to find the one you like.
How do I make a video longer?
- Open the Video tab. In AI Playground, select Video.
- Choose an extend model. Open the model picker and select a model with Extend in its name, for example Seedance 2.5 Video Extend.
- Add your clip. Select Continue on a video you created in AI Playground, or upload a video from your device.
- Describe what happens next. Type a prompt that describes the next part of the scene.
- Check the cost and generate. The number of credits shows on the Generate button. Select Generate.
- Repeat. Select Continue on your newest clip and describe the next part. Repeat until your video is as long as you want.
- Merge your clips. Use Merge to join your clips into one video.
- Download. Download your final video.
How do I get the best results?
- Always continue from your newest clip. Each new part then starts exactly where the last part ended.
- Describe what happens next. Focus each prompt on the next part of the scene.
Are there limits?
- The length that each extension adds depends on the model.
- Some models have a maximum length, or limits on the length, size or resolution of the clip you add. If your clip does not upload, try a shorter or smaller clip.
Does extending use credits?
Yes. Each extension uses credits. The cost depends on the model and the settings, and shows on the Generate button before you generate. If an extension fails, your credits return automatically.
