AI Expand makes your photo bigger with AI. It adds new content around the edges of your photo, so a tight frame becomes a wider scene. You can use AI Expand on the Picsart website and in the Picsart app on iOS and Android.
How do I use AI Expand on the website?
- Open your photo. Open the Picsart web editor and upload your photo.
- Open AI Expand. In the Apps section, select AI Expand.
- Choose the new size. Drag the edges of your photo, or choose a ratio.
- Expand. Start the expansion. AI fills the new space and matches the colors and textures of your photo.
How do I use AI Expand in the app?
- Open your photo. Open the Picsart app, tap the plus (+) sign and select your photo.
- Open AI Expand. Open the tools and select AI Expand.
- Choose the new size. Drag the frame borders to add space.
- Apply. Tap Apply or the check mark. AI creates the new parts of your photo.
The steps can be slightly different in some app versions.
Does AI Expand use credits?

How do I get the best results?
- Use simple edges. AI Expand works best when the edges of your photo show simple textures, such as sky, water or a plain background.
- Use a high-resolution photo. A sharp photo helps AI copy the textures more accurately.
- Expand in small steps. If you do not like the result, expand a smaller area or try a different ratio.
