The Picsart AI Ad Generator combines sophisticated machine learning with user-defined brand parameters. This guide covers deep-level customization and technical best practices.
Defining Your Brand Identity
In the Brand Description section, you tell the AI who you are. There are three ways to establish your brand profile:
Existing Brand Kit: If you have already saved logos, colors, and fonts to your Picsart account, you can select your Brand Kit directly to ensure every ad stays on-brand.
Website URL: Paste your site’s link, and the AI will automatically analyze your brand’s tone and industry.
Manual Description: Describe your brand’s personality and core mission in your own words for a fully customized approach.
Adding Your Product
The Add Product section focuses on the hero of your advertisement:
Upload Image: Upload a high-quality photo of your product. The AI will use this as the focal point of the design.
Try an Example: If you are still exploring the tool, you can select one of our pre-set examples to see how the AI handles different product types.
Visual Inspiration & Style
The Visual Inspiration section allows you to dictate the "look and feel" of the final output through two main categories:
Layouts
Upload Layout: If you have a specific composition in mind, upload a reference image to guide the AI’s placement of elements.
Templates & Categories: Choose from a wide variety of existing categories and pre-designed templates tailored for different industries and ad placements.
Vibe
Choose Vibe: Select from our library of pre-made "Vibes" (such as Minimalist, Bold, Vintage, or Professional) to instantly set the mood and color grading of your ad.
Technical Settings & AI Models
-
Flat vs. Layered:
Flat: Best for immediate export. Faster generation time.
Layered: Essential for professional workflows. This provides a
.PICSARTor project file where text, stickers, and products are on separate layers for manual fine-tuning.
Ratio Optimization: Always select your ratio before generating. Switching ratios after generation may require a re-roll of your credits to adjust the AI's spatial awareness.
Model Selection: Newer models typically offer better text rendering within the image, while older models may be faster for rapid prototyping.
Output: Ad vs. Creative Brief
The Creative Brief: This is a non-visual strategic document. Use this when you need to align with a client or manager on the concept (target audience, USP, and tone) before spending time/credits on the final visual.
Technical Tips & Troubleshooting
Optimization Tips
Avoid Text-Heavy Product Images: If your product photo already has a lot of text on the packaging, the AI might get "confused" when trying to overlay ad copy. Try to use clean product shots.
Refine Your Prompts: If the result isn't quite right, adjust your Brand Description. Use specific keywords like "Cinematic lighting," "Top-down view," or "Flat lay."
Troubleshooting Common Issues
"Generation Failed" Error: This usually occurs due to a momentary network timeout or an unsupported image format. Ensure your upload is under 10MB and in JPG/PNG format.
Distorted Product Images: If your product looks warped, ensure the Layout you selected matches the orientation of your product photo.
Text Hallucinations: AI can sometimes struggle with spelling in complex designs. If this happens, generate a Layered Image so you can manually fix the text in the Picsart Editor.
Missing Brand Kit: If your Brand Kit isn't appearing, ensure you are logged into the correct Picsart account and that your assets are saved in the "My Brand" section of the main dashboard.

Do I lose credits if the generation fails?
In most cases, credits are only deducted for successful generations. If an error occurs during the process, your credit balance should remain unchanged.
Can I change the AI model after the ad is generated?
To use a different AI model, you will need to start a new generation. Each model interprets your prompt and visual inspiration differently.
What is the difference between a Template and a Vibe?
A Template dictates the structure (where the text and image go). A Vibe dictates the aesthetic (the colors, lighting, and "mood"). You can combine any Template with any Vibe.
Is the generated ad unique to my brand?
Yes. Because the AI combines your specific product image, brand description, and selected settings, the resulting ad is a unique creation for your business.
Can I edit the text after the ad is generated?
Yes, provided you select the Layered Image option in the Settings. This allows you to open the generation in the full Picsart Editor and change words, fonts, or colors.
